Kyrgyzstan has long been a Kulanskogo coal deposits. As reported recently, CEO of Bishkek TPP Yuri Frick, from 2005 to 2011 in Kyrgyzstan was imported 800,000 tons of coal from this field. He was burned to the CHP, with the excess of background radiation is not recorded.
However, in late 2011 it became clear that a party of 8.5 thousand tons imported in September, is radioactive. In carrying out dosimetric measurements of fuel, as noted, it was found that the level of gamma radiation exceeds natural background radiation area nine times.
In this case, as the 24.kg, the party went to Kyrgyzstan coal virtually free of side: because the coal did not meet quality requirements, it was at zero cost (Kyrgyz side had only to pay customs duties). Later it became clear that coal from the batch has been delivered in a number of schools Chui.
February 8, Kyrgyzstan, Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the danger of the fuel is removed from the educational and social institutions of the region in which it was previously delivered.
