The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Omurbek Babanov proposed a law that provides wiretapping senior officials without special permission. This writes the Komsomolskaya Pravda.
On its own initiative Babanov told a meeting with residents of the city of Osh on February 24. People should know what they say the country's leaders. Phones officials will listen without a court order. This will be an effective measure to prevent corruption, – said the prime minister.
When it can be passed a corresponding law, is not specified.
In Kyrgyzstan, there were repeated scandals involving phone tapping politicians and bureaucrats. Under the rule of former President Kurmanbek Bakiev to wiretapping and complained of being followed by representatives of the opposition.
The scandals continued after the change of power in the country, which occurred as a result of the April 2010 coup. This topic was raised and the leader of the opposition party Ata-Jurt (Fatherland) Kamchibek Tashiev. I know that all my conversations tapped, – he said, referring to the head of the State Committee of National Security. – Around [my] home you have installed various devices, because of which I have not worked properly telephone.
In the spring of 2011 the Kyrgyz parliament passed a resolution designed to prevent unauthorized telephone tapping intelligence. It requires mobile operators to turn off all the gateways that enable you to listen to citizens. Employees of intelligence, who worked in the cellular companies, MPs were told to vacate the rooms.
