Twenty people have successfully completed the registration process of candidates for the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, which ended Sept. 24. It is reported by ITAR-TASS reported with reference to the Central Election Commission of the Republic.
Total to take part in the election of the applicant intended to 83, but only 20 of them managed to collect 30,000 signatures, made a deposit of 100,000 soms (about 2.2 thousand dollars) and has successfully passed the examination for state Kyrgyz language.
Some potential candidates withdrew their applications for political reasons, the agency points out. Campaigning in Kyrgyzstan starts September 25th and the election itself will take place on October 30, 2011.
