In Kyrgyzstan, he returned to the work of First Deputy Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov, who had previously stayed in office after being convicted of corruption. It is reported by AKI. The officer resumed work after a spoke in his favor a parliamentary commission set up to verify the charges against him.
Vesti.kg said that Babanov officially goes to work tomorrow (17 May). However, today, as reported, he was involved in a government meeting.
Babanov, who is the leader of one of the ruling parties in Kyrgyzstan (Republic party), some time ago, was accused of the scandal surrounding the country's largest mobile operator – the company Alfa Telecom operating under the brand MegaCom. The opposition has accused him of extorting money from Russian investor MegaCom. Claims against Babanov supported and the Russian State Duma deputies who responded to the actions of the Kyrgyz authorities in respect of that asset (as previously reported, after the revolt in Kyrgyzstan in 2010 the new government nationalized 49 percent of the shares MegaCom, and the rest controlled by a Russian investor, was arrested).
With accusations against Deputy Prime Minister and former Attorney General acted Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Baibolov, recently dismissed from the post. He said that one reason for his dismissal was just a case of extortion of money from MegaCom.
In April, representatives of the opposition in the parliament of Kyrgyzstan initiated the issue of no confidence in the vice-premier. In support of this initiative and acted as one of the parties in the ruling coalition (party Ata-Jurt / Fatherland).
