In Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan (the south) after staying at a local police station died a citizen of Russia Usmanzhan Holmirzaev, according to AKI. According to the agency 24.kg, Russians died from injuries inflicted by a few policemen who extorted money from him.
August 7 Holmirzaev was taken from ATS Bazar Korgon district. He was suspected of involvement in the riots that occurred in southern Kyrgyzstan in June 2010.
Later, as his wife told Holmirzaeva, he called home, saying that police beat him and require 6000 dollars. Detainee's family has collected a smaller amount – 30,000 soms (about 670 dollars). The police, according to his wife Holmirzaeva, took the money and freed her husband, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Delivered Holmirzaeva had to take him to the hospital. According to prosecutors, he was hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of blunt chest trauma, closed fracture of the sternum, bruised bodies, post-traumatic shock. Morning of August 9 the victim died. According to the autopsy revealed that the cause of death – fractured sternum that caused internal bleeding.
The instructions given to police officers 30 000 soms were later returned to the family of the deceased. Money returned to the district.
The Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, according to K-News, sent a letter to the prosecutor to investigate the death of Russian. Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office, as it became known, has opened a criminal case under article Deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim, abuse of power and torture.
