Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan declared a monument Manas herald a brighter future

In the center of Bishkek, the grand opening of the monument athlete Manas – the hero of the national epic, according to AKI. The monument was installed at the Ala-Too Square. The opening ceremony timed to the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan (which is celebrated today, 31 August).

MP Egemberdiev Ermatov said on this occasion that the Statue of Liberty in no way represents the unity of the nation, but the Manas – a hero who fought for all the years of independence of the Kirghiz.

On the anniversary of independence in the capital, was also a monument to the famous writer Chingiz Aitmatov. The cost of Manas and sculptures Aitmatov was estimated at 28 million soms (about 627,000 dollars). To cover part of the costs associated with the installation of monuments, the government organized a fundraiser.
